Ng Chor Guan is an artist, music composer, co-founder and artistic director of Toccata Studio. His diverse body of work is rooted in the contemporaneous currents of technology and yet proves to transcend categories in the performing arts. Guan’s film music was awarded Grand Prize in Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival (France, 2009) and Art film Fest (Slovakia, 2010). He was awarded Berlinale Talents (Germany) and OneBeat fellowship (U.S.A). Guan was the musical director of Dance North Australia’s 30th anniversary production “Twilight”, later a winning project of Australia Dance Awards. Awarded by Austrian Ministry of Culture, he spent 3 months residency in Vienna, guest lecture in Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna. Guan was commissioned to create closing piece for AltoFest Malta in conjunction to Valletta as European Cultural Capital 2018. His experiences working in improvisation session with Wuppertal Tanztheater Pina Baush, Folkwang Tanzstudio and Trier Tanztheater in Germany brought him to excel in another level of creation. He has published 11 CD of original music and continues to excel in multidisciplinary contemporary creation.
